Flamingos and Toucans
September 2020: What a wonderful start to our learning journey at Pennycross!
Our first lunchtime at school. We are all enjoying sharing our lunchtime with our new friends.

New friends, new experiences, new adventures!

European Day of Languages: In Foundation we enjoyed celebrating the universal language of smiling!
The language of music-European day of languages
Marvellous Me! As part of this topic we read the story of Elmer and discussed how we are all unique. The children took part in lots of Elmer activities such as jigsaws, craft, making elephant chains, making paper plate elephants and completing programs on the smart board such as drawing faces showing different emotions and designing our own patchwork elephants.

Our first Writedance session. Writedance helps us develop our gross motor skills so we are then able to develop good fine motor skills. It is important we develop good muscle control in our shoulders, elbows, wrists and fingers so that we can develop into writers able to produce controlled, legible handwriting.

Observational drawings of Autumnal pumpkins
Investigating Autumn has been so much fun! The changes in time we have observed have been full of awe and wonder moments and our teachers think we are very observant!
RWI sound mats. We are learning to point to each sound in a word saying the sounds and then sweep a finger under the whole word as we say it. This reading skill is called blending.
Number fun is all around!
