Recycling Monitors
Meet our amazing recycling monitors who support their class with recycling and empty their class recycling bin at the end of each day. They take pride in their role as recycling monitors and encourage others to recycle effectively across the school.
Biodiversity - Generous donations from Fred Champion Groundworks
Fred Champion Groundworks kindly donated the materials and created an amazing bird stand, bird houses and a hedgehog house for our school grounds. We are extremely thankful for their generous donations and look forward to placing them around the school grounds to support our topic of biodiversity.

Book Swap - Share a Story Month May 2022
To celebrate Share a Story month, children across all year groups participated in a book swap event to highlight the importance of reusing unwanted items such as books. The children kindly donated books from home and were able to take a new book home of their choice. The event was very successful and the children were all very pleased with their new reading books. We hope they enjoyed reading them!
World Earth Day 8.4.22
In recognition of World Earth Day celebrated on 22nd April, the children took part in Plymouth's Mass Seed Sowing Event and were given a packet of wildflower seeds each to plant over the Easter holidays. The seeds were kindly donated by Pollenize CIC in order to help protect our pollinators!
Litter pick 10.3.22
Our Eco Warriors carried out an electricity audit across the school to record how many devices were on, off or on standby at the end of a school day. They look forward to sharing their findings with the whole school in their Switch Off Fortnight assembly!
Our Eco Warriors presented the Switch off Fortnight campaign in assembly to the whole school and shared useful tips on how to save energy!
Our Eco Warriors decided to plan an non-electricity day for the whole school participate in and they named their event 'A Day in the Dark'. All children were encouraged to bring their own torch to school. The Eco Warriors carried out their second electricity audit around the school and noticed a real difference in the amount of electricity used.
Our Eco Warriors wished to carry out a lunch time litter pick once a week with Mrs Croft or Miss Vincent. They have been doing a fantastic job at keeping our school grounds litter free!
Planet Under Pressure
In Year 5 the children have been focusing on their topic 'Planet Under Pressure' and as an Art project with Miss Lydon, the children created art sculptures to depict the effect of plastic in our oceans and that of the sea creatures which live in and around our waters. Art sculptures are a great way to recycle our plastic items!
