Curriculum Provision for Children with Special Educational Needs
The school’s Inclusion of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Non-SEND Groups policy, describes in detail how we identify these pupils and the provision we make for them in order to access the curriculum. In addition, our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator endeavours to ensure access to specialist provision, individual and/or small-group support where necessary. This is done in coordination with each pupil’s teacher. Parents are kept fully informed of progress and all the measures taken to meet the needs of individual pupils. We have excellent links with outside agencies, which support us as and when required.
Children with Education, Health and Care Plans are given extra support by the Inclusion Team, which is additional to their class teacher adjustments and differentiation of the curriculum. This is also influenced by outcomes within each pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan as may be directed by the Local Authority.
